By George, I think he was getting it: “in Geneva he replaced the absolution with a statement of forgiveness”! 🙂
Frustrating though, that the “Strassburg” date is left tantalizingly incomplete@ “15___”.
According to Wikipedia, he was in Strasbourg, France (near Germany) from 1538-41. Strassburg is in Austria. Hope the author got the absolution bit right… 😛
